About Us

SOS was founded in direct response to the lack of services for male survivors of childhood sexual abuse in Scotland. Since our inception, we have developed a range of services that provide support for not only survivors, but families, friends, employers and community groups. However, we remain run by survivors, for survivors.

Important Notice!

Referrals Suspended

Due to unprecedented demand for our services, we are NOT currently accepting referrals for counselling. As a charity, we work with limited resources and feel that any new referrals would face unacceptable waiting times for support.

We will accept new referrals after the current backlog has been dealt with.

In the meantime, we would like to thank you for your patience and understanding.

‘The Promise Scotland’ is responsible for delivering the changes demanded by the Independent Care Review.

SOS are working with The Promise and a range of other organisations on a very challenging, but vitally important project. We are learning more about the specific needs of children and young adults with care experience, while developing best practice in terms of treatment and services.

If you are a care-experienced, suffered childhood trauma and are seeking help, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

We would also love to hear from anyone who can contribute in terms of experience and knowledge.

Help Us Help Others

At SOS, we believe that survivors should not be denied help on the basis of affordibility. We also believe there should be no restriction on the duration of therapy or the number of sessions. We therefore offer free, open-ended support. To do this, we rely on the generosity of others, so if you can spare a few £'s, please use the donation button below.
